During the 43rd Kennedy Center Honors, Kelly Clarkson left Garth Brooks in tears with her rendition of his hit song “The Dance”. The song has a special meaning for both of them, inspiring Kelly’s upcoming album and helping Garth through his divorce

The performance was a slower, piano-accompanied version of the song, showcasing Kelly’s incredible voice. As the song came to an end, Garth was visibly emotional, wiping away tears before standing up and cheering. 
The touching performance was just one of the ways Garth was honored that night, as James Taylor also sang one of his songs. Garth expressed his gratitude and love to all the artists who celebrated his music and thanked them for making him fall in love with music all over again.
